Registered / Licensed - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day
Hours per Shift: 6:45 AM - 6:15 PM Experience: Less than 1 year of
experience preferred License: Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN
- Multi-state Compact Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced
Life Support (PALS) Must-Have: PACU experience required
Description: The RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse is a proactive
member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed
caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant
others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. The
role is supported through a shared governance model and practices
within a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and
other leaders. Nurse competencies are derived from recognized
professional models and are supported by core competencies. All RN
Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and
uphold the nursing practice as outlined by relevant professional
standards. It is essential to implement the scope of practice and
code of ethics standards. As a member of the patient services team,
the individual must uphold the voice of the patient while
supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and
Essential Functions: Performs the Nursing Process in the delivery
of clinical care using evidence-based practice. Utilizes analytical
and critical thinking to ensure individualized care. Coordinates
care through effective partnerships with a focus on optimal patient
care outcomes. Provides relationship-based patient-centered care
consistent with population-specific characteristics. Partners with
patients and significant others using appropriate methods for
setting and purpose. Practices using current clinical practice
standards to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care.
Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration, promoting a respectful and
inclusive clinical environment. Participates in performance
improvement activities and supports shared governance. Completes
ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and
staff. Promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research.
Upholds all organizational policies and procedures, including legal
and regulatory standards. Participates in data collection and
utilizes resources to address practice questions. Plans for the
care of patients across the continuum while giving direct patient
care. Participates in the development of protocols and procedures
to achieve best practice outcomes. Supports the effective use of
human and material resources. Required Minimum Education: Diploma
from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor's Degree in nursing
(BSN) preferred. Required Minimum Skills: Ability to communicate
effectively in English, both written and spoken. Strong
interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to function in a
fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a calm manner.
Possesses excellent time management skills and practices nursing
using evidence and analytical skills. Demonstrates strong critical
