hotel of the Atlanta Braves and located within steps of SunTrust
Park as well as premier office space, the Coca-Cola Roxy music
venue and a variety of shopping and dining.
Our luxury hotel features 16 floors with 264 rooms including 28
suites, over 20,000 square feet of meeting space and can
accommodate business travelers, families on vacation and everyone
in-between. Redefining "live, work, play," we are a proud "play,
work, stay" destination and seek to provide an unforgettable
experience enhanced by our hotel's elevated pool deck in addition
to our Lobby Bar and hotel restaurant.
Job Description
Responsible for researching and successful solicitation of group
business (10 - 19 rooms ) for the Omni Hotel at The Battery
Atlanta. Once the group arrives, the salesperson maintains his
relationship by efficient and courteous follow-through with each
client, thereby increasing our opportunities to rebook this
business at the hotel. To perform duties and maintain professional
job posture at all times. Representative of the caliber of the Omni
Hotel at The Battery Atlanta.

Director of Sales and Marketing
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Contact the representative all groups for business to include,
government, and social groups to solicit business for the
hotel.
- Calls on prospects by phone or mail, analyzes requirements of
occasion, outlines types of services offered and quote
prices.
- Verifies reservations by contract and obtain
signature.
- Confer with customer and Convention Services Manager to plan
function details such as space requirements, publicity, time
schedules, etc.
- Conduct site inspections for prospective clients.
- Entertain clients during their visit to the Omni Hotel at The
Battery Atlanta. -
- Represent the hotel at trade association meetings, shows, sales
trips. -
- Be aware of all tentative and definite group business in the
hotel for the purpose of -
- Analyze room blocks to maximize revenue with the direction of
the DOSM.
- Participate in Group Site Inspections conducted by
hotel.
- Maintain a harmonious relationship with other hotel
salespersons in the city.
- Perform all other duties as directed by the DOSM.
- Ensure work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris
or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being
performed safely, efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor Reader Boards of competition for potential sources of
new group business.
- Is fully aware of all corporate sponsored promotions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Sales
Action Plan (KRA's).
- Submit weekly and monthly sales reports on a timely
basis.
- Maintain all files with current trace dates, accurate histories
and all relevant information regarding booking activity.
- Participate in the ongoing forecasting process.
- Is current and abides by all sales office procedures and
systems.
- Participate in weekly marketing and rooms merchandising
meetings, bi-weekly sales meetings, monthly forecast meetings as
assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Promote a high quality company image by demonstrating
professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
- Recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed.
Hotel Specific Essential Functions:
- Entertain clients at Omni sponsored and Braves affiliated
events.
Communication:
- Develops effective presentation (orally and written) where
ideas, opinions, recommendations and conclusions are
understood.
- Maintains communication with Key Accounts, understands Hotel
performance, customer issues and trends.
- Clearly articulates vision, goals, initiatives and expectations
for the Hotel.
- Promotes and fosters property sales / global sales
synergies.
Qualifications
- Account Planning Skills, including identifying and
understanding account potential and the ability to set mutual Omni
/ Customer expectations
- Management of the customer decision and relationship
process.
- Ability to self-motivate and follow through on activities
through internal and external resources.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
oriented environment.
- Ability to assess the competitive arena as it relates to region
and sell against the competition with a strong customer value
proposition.
- Creative and strategic skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and re-prioritize -when
necessary,
- Communication skills including group presentations, written and
oral.
- Previous hospitality sales experience preferred.
- Proficient in use of Excel, Word and access database
tools
