Performance Foodservice, a leader in food distribution, is seeking a dedicated Buyer to manage the acquisition of food products and ensure a smooth supply chain flow. This role demands strategic sourcing abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective negotiation skills to maintain optimum inventory levels and cost while supporting our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, price, and delivery speed. Negotiate contracts and terms with food suppliers and manufacturers. Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages and excess. Forecast procurement needs based on historical buying trends. Collaborate with supply chain analysts to optimize procurement strategies. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and regulations. Strong negotiation and communication skills Ability to analyze data and forecast trends Proficient in supply chain management software Knowledge of the food industry’s standards and market dynamics Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
