Department Information: About the Wallace H. Coulter Department of
Biomedical at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory
UniversityThe Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical
Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University has a student body

Job Summary
This research technician position involves assisting with research
on sensory deficits in a Parkinson's Disease mouse model and
reward-driven adaptive behavior, with publication
opportunities.
Job Summary
Responsibilities include conducting mouse behavioral training,
assisting with fiber photometry and data analysis, performing
histological analysis, and supporting lab operations.Additional
responsibilities include lab manager duties. Training will be
provided by lab staff under the Principal Investigator.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned
scientific tests, experiments, etc
Job Duty 2 -
Collect and prepare samples for use in assigned tests
Job Duty 3 -
Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.
Job Duty 4 -
Operate various equipment used in research studies.
Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of
education and experience
Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications
BS/MS in neuroscience, biology, engineering, or related fields, and
have experience in animal behavior, surgery, wet lab techniques
including histology, and MATLAB/Python proficiency. Excellent
organizational skills are essential.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
This job requires basic knowledge of research lab equipment and
support processes and practices. Includes skill in data
organization, statistical analysis and use of statistical and
scientific computer applications.
