Location:BWPSouthwire Job DescriptionJob Summary/Objective The
Plant Project Engineer II at Southwire is an integral part of our
manufacturing operations, responsible for implementing, leading,
and managing complex engineering projects. The ideal candidate is a
continual learner and collaborator who has a strong understanding
of manufacturing processes, Lean principles, and is highly skilled
at problem-solving. With a commitment to safety and efficiency, the
Plant Project Engineer II helps drive continuous improvement in the
plant, while fostering innovation and operational excellence. Key
Responsibilities 1. Project Management & Budget Oversight (25%):
Lead end-to-end project cycles, ensuring timely delivery within set
budgets, accompanied by clear planning, scheduling, and optimal
resource allocation. 2. Engineering Expertise & Compliance (20%):
Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of new
equipment and modifications to existing machinery, ensuring
adherence to established standards and regulations. 3. Process
Improvement & Efficiency (20%): Employ Lean principles to identify
and rectify operational bottlenecks, spearheading initiatives for
continuous improvement, enhanced safety, and product quality. 4.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Support (20%): Collaborate with
multiple departments, offering technical guidance and fostering a
harmonized operational environment with shared knowledge. 5.
Industry Awareness & Integration (15%): Stay updated on industry
trends and advancements, integrating this knowledge into ongoing
and future projects to keep Southwire at the forefront of wire &
cable manufacturing.Job Description Part 2Education, Experience,
Skills: Required: Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Specialized
Degree: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree Years of
Experience: 5+ Years Field of Expertise: Mechanical or Electrical
Engineering in Manufacturing Environment Preferred: Certificates:
PMP Preferred Field of Expertise: Prior Experience in the Wire and
Cable Manufacturing Industry Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, and
Certificates: Proficiency in project management and engineering
software, including 2D AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools. Solid
understanding of manufacturing processes and Lean principles.
Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving
skills. Proven communication skills, with the ability to clearly
articulate complex ideas and collaborate with cross-functional
teams. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Spans of Control: Reports to: Manager, Engineering Scope: Single
Location Travel, Physical Requirements Working Conditions, and
Equipment: Travel: Domestic- Up to 25% Workplace Setting: In
Office/On Site 4+ days a week Physical Requirements:
