The maintenance coordinator is a professional responsible for
maintaining the company's technical inventory (equipment spare
parts), ordering necessary spare parts to repair equipment, while
maintaining accurate records of all technical stock levels,
receivals and procurements.
The maintenance coordinator has the primary responsibility of
increasing company profitability by maintaining accurate spare part
levels, ensuring that optimal inventory is present, so that
equipment in the plant can be repaired in a timely manner with
minimum impact to production.
The maintenance coordinator checks shipments going in and out of
the company and ensures that all spares are delivered correctly.
This individual must also report any issues with inventory
management systems and stock levels to his or her manager, so that
problems can be resolved quickly. This individual must be
exceptionally organized.
What you will do:
Technical Inventory Management
---Maintains consistent inventory of spare parts, places inventory
re-stock orders up to pre- authorized limit as inventory reduces to
ensure required parts to repair equipment are available.
---Tracks technical inventory levels and raises alert when levels
are reducing.
---Identifies critical spare parts based on production impact and
Risk Management concepts.
---Recommends which spare parts to have on stock and which ones not
to stock.
---Reviews Min-Max levels of spare parts and recommends
adjustments.
---Forecasts future technical inventory requirements to minimize
production impact, while minimizing costs of the technical stock
inventory.
---Identifies consumables and parts that can be vendor managed.
---Communicates with management about any technical inventory
issues.
---Establishes and maintains alternative vendors for high-demand
spare part items.
---Comes up with ways to dispose of or sell obsolete spare parts in
the inventory.
---Develops and implements procedures for ensuring that adequate
inventory levels are present.
---Compiles and assesses inventory reports and order patterns to
identify spare parts in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
---Reports to management and advises on process improvements.
Storeroom Management
---Maintains storage space in the technical inventory
storeroom.
---Plans storeroom space usage and reduces waste.
---Organizes storeroom in a logical way, such that spare parts and
consumables are found easily.
---Ensures labeling of all bins and spare parts.
---Maintains accurate daily records of spare parts received and
shipments made.
---Implements preventative maintenance tasks and storage best
practices for equipment and parts, such as motor, gearboxes and
bearings, to ensure their integrity and reliability.
---Works with vendor if spare parts are missing or damaged within a
shipment.
---Ensures inventories are accurate and conducts regular cycle
counting of physical inventory and reconciles with Computerized
Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
---Keeps a particular area of the storeroom for projects, kitting
and returned spare parts tidy and clean.
---Implement best practice storeroom principles and processes, such
as 5S, so that storeroom is organized, and work can be performed
efficiently and safely.
---Develops procedures for storeroom activities and ensure all
systems meet the standards for accreditation in line with the
quality systems.
---Establishes and maintains high standards of safety and security
in the warehouse.
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
---Ensures that Equipment Bill of Materials and Materials Masters
are accurate and up to date in CMMS.
---Ensures that key information, such as Min-Max levels, are
accurate and up to date in CMMS.
---Continuously improves the material data quality in CMMS.
---Keeps up to date with the latest technologies, such as computer
software.
Relationship Management
---Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and
external stakeholders to ensure optimal service.
---Liaise with customers, vendors and transport companies as and
when required to handle any concerns or damages about spare parts
in a timely way.
---Liaise with Maintenance and Project department to monitor future
spare part requirements to ensure availability of parts and
minimize production impact.
---Contribute to new business initiatives and projects to review
the impact on technical inventory stock levels and storeroom
capacity.
Minimum Qualifications:
---Must be at least 18 years of age
---Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you
are applying for employment without now or in the future needing
sponsorship for employment visa status
---Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in
English
Preferred Qualifications:
---Previous experience using computerized inventory tracking
systems
---Experience using Microsoft Office Applications including
excel
---Experience in a manufacturing environment
---Previous maintenance experience
