Overview
A Civil/Site Engineer is an important member of the Civil/Site design team. - An Engineer is responsible for various technical aspects of land development projects including, but not limited to: site layout, rough grading, utility designs, Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) plans, and other regulatory items. -An Engineer will work within AutoCAD Civil 3D as well as other engineering software under the direction of more senior design team members to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• 
  
• Perform design tasks, such as conceptual layouts, grading, and utility layout associated with civil engineering construction projects.
  
• Prepare stormwater management calculations including developing drainage area maps and times of concentration.
  
• Review municipal ordinances to determine design criteria.
  
• Generate Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) plans.
  
• Produce construction drawings, plans, and cost estimates.
  
• Assist in the preparation of NPDES permits, including Erosion & Sedimentation Pollution Control (E&SPC) and Post-Construction Stormwater
  
• Management (PCSM) plan sets and reports.
  
• Provide technical support to more senior staff.
  
• Plot and assemble various civil engineering reports and plan sets.
  
• Conform to the company's standard AutoCAD procedures for layering, details, etc.
  
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
  
  Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
    
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification, preferred
    
  • 0-2 years of civil engineering experience
    
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D
    
  • Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies
    
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    
  • Attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities
    
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
    
  • Experience in land development, preferred
    
  • Knowledge of local city, county, and state land use processes and regulations (GA), preferred
    
  • Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development related designs, preferred
