Install, connect, test, maintain and repair electrical systems at
the journeyman skill level. Includes primary (20 KV) and secondary
voltage interior and exterior systems. May be required to
coordinate the work of contractor personnel as well as provide work
direction regarding electrical systems to maintenance personnel and
others. When working in a multi-craft environment, may be directed
to assist others in non-electrically related duties. This position
will interact on a consistent basis with: co-workers, building
contact personnel, D&C staff, vendors, contractors, and
environmental health and safety personnel.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Inspect existing electrical systems; prepare
estimates, plan, layout, and document electrical work projects. Job
Duty 2 - Coordinate activities with customers and contractors. Job
Duty 3 - Obtain necessary materials and supplies; may include
direct purchase from vendors if authorized. Job Duty 4 - Perform
installation, maintenance, and repair of primary and secondary
interior and exterior systems (may include outside lighting
systems). Job Duty 5 - Observe campus and industry safety
procedures. Job Duty 6 - Perform non-electrical duties as directed
within the multi-craft work environment. Job Duty 7 - Perform other
duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational RequirementsHigh school diploma, GED Certificate, or
Vocational School Diploma Required ExperienceFour to five years of
job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational QualificationsTechnical Diploma, Associate's
Degree, or two years of college coursework in the electrical field.
Additional Preferred QualificationsUnrestricted State of Georgia
Electrical License; Those associated with obtaining an unrestricted
State of Georgia Electrical License.
Proposed Salary
Hourly Range: $17.28-$23.50/hrJob Grade: C6
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLSThis job requires working knowledge of electrical systems,
the National Electrical Code, general construction processes, and
ability to read prints and drawings.
