UnitedHealthcare is expanding its Medicaid business at a rapid rate in both existing and new markets. Accurate coding, documentation, and analysis are critical to our success. You will lead complex actuarial projects, perform cutting-edge analytics, and report on performance results that have strategic importance toward ensuring appropriate compensation for the risk UnitedHealthcare assumes.The challenges here are significant. You will be a trusted subject matter expert who is called upon to incorporate traditional actuarial expertise into novel, cutting edge actuarial solutions.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of risk adjustment programs for Medicaid MCOs in all markets
  • Report to market leadership on operational performance of risk adjustment programs
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external third-party vendors to support programs
  • Perform actuarial modeling to provide management with statistical findings and conclusions
  • Communicate results of complex actuarial analyses to technical and non-technical audiencesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
    • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or progress towards ASA
    • 2+ years of actuarial experience
    • Experience with actuarial modeling
    • Advanced or higher level of proficiency with ExcelPreferred Qualifications:
      • Healthcare industry experience
      • Experience working with medical claims data
      • Basic or higher level of proficiency with SAS and/or SQL -
      • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
      • Familiarity with risk adjustment programs
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900.
