Be a Specialized Fueling Facility Designer
- Argus Consulting is seeking a qualified individual to fill an
Electrical Engineer position in our Atlanta, GA or Overland Park,
KS office.
- Projects include fueling systems for commercial airports, rail
companies and military installations worldwide and cover a broad
spectrum in size, ranging from small operations to
multi-million-dollar fuel storage and distribution
facilities.
- Clients include airlines, airports, fixed-base operators,
railroads, the U.S. government, ENR's Top 25
Architecture/Engineering Design Firms and ENR's Top 10 Design/Build
Firms, Fortune 500 companies, fuel-servicing companies, and oil
companies.

Applicant Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years design related experience in the fueling
and/or midstream/terminal/pipeline industries.
- Licensed Professional Engineer, or able to acquire licensure
within one year, with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
from an ABET accredited program preferred.
- This position requires an individual capable of applying
engineering and management to diverse fuels/hydrocarbon system
planning, design, inspection, analysis and construction
assignments.
- Successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal
communication skills along with strong analytical and
problem-solving skills. Successful candidate shall be a
self-starter and work well on multiple project teams
simultaneously.
- Ability to recognize and troubleshoot equipment, operational,
and control issues in fuel and other hydrocarbon storage,
distribution and dispensing systems.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
including Word, Excel, and Project.
- Knowledge of the application of relevant fuel system codes and
standards including API, ANSI, ASME, UL, NFPA, IFC, CFR
49/112/280/, etc.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and use of reference files
preferred.
Job Duties May Include
- Electrical engineering, planning, design and construction
follow-on services for aviation, rail, and terminal facilities and
systems at commercial airports, military installations, rail yards
and petroleum terminal facilities.
- Project assignments may include: facility/system
investigations, concept development reports, technical analysis,
feasibility studies, engineering design, construction drawings and
details, technical specifications and other duties common to the
practice of Consulting Engineering.
- Electrical engineers commonly responsible as design lead for
the following tasks/infrastructure design: site planning and
layout, site utilities (primary power, communications), interior
and exterior lighting design, power distribution design, grounding,
lightning protection, building systems, instrumentation and
controls, CCTV design, short circuit and arc flash studies, and
aircraft 400 Hz ground power systems.
- Assistance in the development of technical standards,
procedures and documents for each of our market segments.
- Professional interaction with Clients and design team members
necessary to prepare and deliver contract documents and services of
the highest quality, including written and verbal
communications.
- Production management, prospective business, and business
development aspects of the firm.
- Provide construction support services including compliance
submittal review, response to RFIs, field oversight, and
commissioning.
- Design associated with fuel facility inspection and repair
programs including coordination of internal staff,
scope/schedule/budget development and management, contractor
coordination, and client communication
- Periodic travel associated with inspections, client
coordination meetings, troubleshooting, construction site visits,
etc.
