Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Works in the plant in support of one of the departments such as repair, tear down, or the receiving dock. Follows manager's direction of the duties to be performed. Repair Operators: Uses a pneumatic nail gun to repair or assemble pallets. In a repair department places pallet on repair table, removes defective boards, replaces new boards, and nails replaced boards into place. In an assembly department takes stock boards and nails together based on type of pallet desired. Responsible for troubleshooting jams and basic maintenance of the saw. Work requires operator to stand for long periods of time. Nail guns must be operated with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times Forklift Operators: Operates forklift to move pallets through the different departments in the plant. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets and transports load to designated area. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. The forklift operator is responsible for supplying and retrieving pallets or materials form different departments throughout the plant as needed. The operator is responsible for making decisions regarding the movement of pallets or materials to maximize the efficiency of the plant. May lubricate, and replace liquefied-gas tank. Saw Operators: Operates one or more single- or multiple-blade circular saws to cut wood and wood products to specified lengths as part of the tear down department. Places material to be cut on conveyor belt, drums, or feed chain that feeds stock into saws, or positions work piece against end stop and under saw, synchronizing action with automatically descending blade, or pushes material on table and cuts wood, depending on type saw. Responsible for troubleshooting jams and basic maintenance of the saw. Work requires operator to stand for long periods of time. Saws must be operated with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times. Utility Tech: Keep facilities and commons areas clean and maintained. Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors, maintaining property and upkeeping grounds, clean and stock restrooms, clean up spills with appropriate equipment, notify managers of necessary repairs, collect and dispose of trash, clean rooms, halls and bathrooms, vacuum, sweep, mop, replace toiletries, manage utility closet for items, and make sure to let us know we need to order items, so we don't run out, ability to manage your time efficiently, work well unsupervised, ability to lift at least 25 pounds, handle basic maintenance and cleaning, ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with other employees. Quality Control Auditor: Uses a hammer and/or saw to correct quality issues in the assembly pallets, quality department places pallet on rollers, lifts pallet to examine pallet, removes defective boards, and corrects nail related issues, in an assembly department understands pallet specifications and modification necessary for customers, responsible for troubleshooting james, and basic maintenance of quality control station, as well as fully versed in PCP program, work requires operator to stand for long periods of time. Work requires operator to stand and walk for long periods of time. Operators must be able to repeatedly lift a pallet weighing 50-75 lbs. Qualifications and Education Requirements Operators must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Tech must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential For forklift positions previous Forklift operation experience is a must. Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Preferred Skills Forklift Certification for forklift positions Carpentry/Construction and/or experience with power tools 2+ years previous experience working in an industrial, fast moving setting with industrial machinery.
