Responsibilities
The Data Center (DC) Operations Supervisor will oversee the
day-to-day operations of the organization's operational Data Center
team and infrastructure. This role will primarily deal with the
operational aspects of the DC Operations. The DC Operations
Supervisor will plan, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot most
aspects of the Data Centers and other tasks assigned to the DC Ops
team. This position also supports the monitoring of enterprise
systems as well as alert management & response. Must be well
rounded from a technology perspective to include, but not limited
to, Data Center Operations, Servers, Hardware, SAN storage systems,
Network and monitoring platforms. Responsible for monitoring
service requests, incidents, and tasks for the DC Operations team
as well as any day-to-day maintenance tasks. Some project work may
be incorporated, as needed.
The Data Center Operations Supervisor is also required to work with
multiple IT teams, project managers, IT architects, vendors, and
business leaders to design and architect Data Center solutions to
meet the demanding clinical workflows in diverse hospital
environments. Quickly learn and understand the needs of the
business in the short, medium, and long-term planning phases. This
position will also be required to support the check printing
process and the logistics required.
It is equally important to have excellent communication,
negotiating and troubleshooting skills as the DC Operations
Supervisor will be required to collaborate with IT teams,
application analysts, vendors, clinical and business staff to help
resolve problems and issues that may arise.
Familiarity with basic ITIL and other IT operational frameworks to
ensure adherence to current Change Control process and procedures.
Provide all necessary support for a Data Center Infrastructure as
well as suggest changes for upgrades and improvements, in
conjunction with keeping the environment secure and up-to-date with
current vendor release cycles.
Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals and
projects. A large degree of creativity and latitude is
required.
The qualified candidate will have a good mix of technical and
project management skills.
This position is on site and requires normal business hours
primarily but there may be requirements for afterhours support or
to provide additional coverage for the team.
