We have over 16,000 associates and offer a wide variety of career opportunities - from warehouse forklift operators and supervisors to accounting, administration, business development, customer support, engineering, transportation, and technology solutions positions.Primary Responsibility:The Americold Summer Internship Experience is a 12-week, full time, paid internship that takes place over the summer term in various locations throughout the country. During this experience, our interns will gain valuable knowledge related to Industrial Engineering while contributing to the one of the COOLest business sectors. The internship opportunity will afford our interns to better understand of the supply chain industry, work on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the ability to collaborate with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers. As an Americold Intern, the experience you will gain here will not only be essential to your personal and professional growth and development, but your contributions can make a vital difference for our company.Essential Functions: Install engineered standards labor management systems in DCs. Standards creation and validation through time studies and observations. Calculate and implement performance incentives. Provide labor management system training and guidance to operations / facility leadership Engineering programming and configuration in Red Prairie Work Force Management system including mapping of warehouses. Evaluate material handling methods for process improvements. Evaluate material handling equipment requirements as needed. Evaluate and make recommendations for process improvements, improving productivity and costs reduction. Develop plans to complete project tasks based on priority Keep abreast of the latest technology in warehousing and evaluate for applications. Develop and execute project scopes, specifications and estimates as needed Engineering technical and operational support as needed. Work independently to complete above mentioned functions. Other duties as requested.Qualifications & Experience: Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university for an undergraduate or graduate degree in Industrial Engineering or related field of study, preferably rising senior Exposure to labor standards or relevant course work preferred. Acceptable courses may include, but are not limited to: Data management SQL, Python, C++ Microsoft Office Creating dashboards (Tableau/Power BI) Experience with the distribution/warehouse/logistics industry preferred Proficient with AS400, RF Scanning and WMS systems preferredKnowledge & Employment Standards: Ability to resolve problems in a timely manner with little or no supervision Able to work in a multi-functional team environment Ability to work in office and facility environments Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills required Strong analytical skills required Strong time management skills required Must be self-motivated with high degree of initiative Advanced Excel skillsPhysical Requirements & Abilities: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
