Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Scoping Team Substation Protection & Control Lead in our Atlanta office. The substation protection & control lead will report directly to the Scoping Manager on a large capital investment program with a major Southeast utility. Other key responsibilities will include:ResponsibilitiesResponsible for scoping out the Substation Protection & Control portion of all Substation projects. Deliverables at a minimum include a Scoping Document and Relaying Single Line Diagram.Collaborate with P&C Applications (Relay Settings) and SCADA.Collaborate with other discipline leads to successfully scope all Transmission projects.Collaborate with OE Manager, OE discipline leads and peers of functional areas within program team to ensure alignment on program direction and processes.Interface and work with the client's project management leadership team to provide regular, timely updates and suggest scope options for the client's approval.Lead Substation Protection & Control scoping activities of the team of BMcD employees and/or contractors.Support estimating and material forecasting efforts.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering a plus.7 years electrical engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred.Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE Standards. Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.Ability to travel.EEO/Minorities/Females/Disabled/VeteransJob Electrical EngineeringPrimary Location US-GA-AtlantaSchedule: Full-timeTravel: Yes, 10 % of the TimeReq ID: 214115 &D
