Summary/Objective
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and day-to-day support to the organizations managing the processes that are critical to delivering unsurpassed quality and food safety to the North American flavor and beverage businesses.
Essential Functions
1.Food Safety: Execute against the organizations food safety requirements including FSSC 22000 and continually improve to address changing market, regulatory, and company conditions. Ensure implementation of a HACCP system. Continuously improve and adjust the HACCP system.
2.Quality System Development / Implementation: Design, develop, and implement quality systems across the supply chain. This would include, but is not limited to, identification of critical quality parameters, appropriate monitoring and controls of same, designing and implementing appropriate verification / validation schemes and resulting business-reporting capabilities.
3.Process Control: Development, implementation, and maintenance of standardized product specifications, process SOP's and performance targets. Continual research and identification of new technologies and processes to improve quality, as well as the ability to apply SPC concepts to reduce process variation, improve quality, and optimize cost.
4.Quality Reporting: Develop appropriate business related reports to drive quality improvement across the supply chain. This includes historical quality metrics and data to develop and track product quality and cost of quality failure. Ensure robust quality inspection processes. Manage systems that integrate product/process quality data to ensure delivery of the highest quality product to customers and consumers.
5.Organizational Development: Ensure the right resources are in place to adequately support quality and business needs. Responsible for the management and development of field and manufacturing quality resources supporting the North American business. This includes effective use of feedback, salary planning, reward and recognition programs, and development of individual development opportunities with integration of competency models.
6.Technical Support: Provide technical quality expertise and tools to help optimize resources and quality while minimizing cost.

Responsibilities / Tasks
1.Manage the local QM team. Lead, coach, motivate and develop the team to ensure an optimal team spirit, competencies and performance.
2.Contact person for authorities, auditors and customers regarding questions on certification, HACCP and food safety related topics of production site.
3.Ensure implementation of a HACCP system. Continuously improve and adjust the HACCP system.
4.Prepare and manage certification- and customer audits including follow-ups, and manage the implementation of corrective actions.

Required Qualifications
1.Graduation with Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering or similar with 5-7 years professional experience in the area of quality management and food safety.
2.At least 3 years staff supervisory responsibility
3.3+ years' experience in food & beverage industry with aseptic processing
4.Experience in multiple processed food platforms (i.e. RTD, dairy, brewing, aseptic processing, acidified, low acid)
5.Certificate in Better Processing School
6.Previous experience in supervising thermal processing systems
7.FSMA Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)
8.HACCP Certified
9.Training /Certifications in GFSI scheme including FSSC 22000 and ISO certification 9001
10.Proficient in SAP
11.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
