Job Description:

Synergy specializes in Horizontal Directional Drilling for fiber optics. We are seeking several hard working committed employees to work in the underground utility industry.Must be a reliable team player and be able to perform tasks with little or no supervision with exceptional quality. Must be able to do some basic math, lift heavy objects, shovel, and do any other tasks asked of you. Also must be willing to work overtime, do a little traveling and work some Saturday's. Pay is based on experience.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate directional drill and/or locator for Ditch Witch JT-9
  • Installing 2 inch conduit
  • Set utility vaults
  • Excavate and run other types of heavy equipment.
  • Adhere and promote company safety measures at all times
  • Loading and unloading equipment and materials
  • Prepare construction site and clean up when job is completed
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, tampers, and rakes
  • Safely drive trucks and pull trailers with equipment and materials to construction sites
  • Safely operate equipment (backhoe, trencher, mini excavator, auger, and forklift)
  • Perform routine/preventative maintenance and inspection on equipment
  • Help clean and organize truck
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications
    • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred.
    • Must have transportation to and from various job sites throughout Atlanta metro area
    • Must be a reliable, punctual, team player who is ready to learn
    • Previous experience in underground fiber and coax construction a plus.
    • Possess general knowledge of construction practices.
    • Preferably have 1 year of experience operating HDD (Horizontal Directional Drill) equipment with locator or heavy equipment (preferably Ditch Witch equipment)
    • Preferably 1 to 3 years of experience in heavy equipment operation and general maintenance of (backhoe, trencher, mini excavator, auger, and forklift)
    • Have the ability to read underground utility construction plans, prints and all other written instructions
    • Have ability to communicate in clear precise English language (Spanish helpful, but not required)
    • Preferably have ability to perform minor repairs and service to UG and other construction equipment
    • Basic computer and math skillsWorking Conditions
      • Outside in all weather conditions, mainly during normal daylight hours (range 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM typical), Monday thru Friday and occasional Saturday's.
      • Noise conditions of 85 decibels or greater, with exposure to motorized (automobile) trafficPhysical Requirements
        • Requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, reaching above shoulder level or working in confined spaces.
        • Must be able to carry up to 75 lbs. for up to 100 feet and have 20/20 eyesight or corrected by prescription and no limiting hearing impairmentCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:
          • Pre-employment drug screen/criminal background test is mandatory
