Leads the career discovery and exploration experience for
undergraduate students including one-on-one and group coaching,
leadership of Career Peer program and general career exploration
initiatives within the guidelines of federal, state and local laws
and office, division and college policies and procedures. Reports
to the executive director and works with students, young alumnae,
faculty and other community partners on and off campus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides one-on-one and group coaching with a focus on career
discovery and exploration to undergraduate and graduate students,
as well as, young alums.
Cultivates relationships and adjusts approach to meet the array
of needs of our diverse student body.
Facilitates student learning and growth via self-assessment and
reflection, career research tools, career exploration options
(internships, volunteering, etc. ) and development of professional
tools (resume, LinkedIn) and career preparation (interview
Stays abreast of new approaches and trends in collaboration with
other career coaches.
- Manages appointment schedule, enters notes and student
engagement details in a timely manner into compass for tracking and
use by other advisors.
Career Discovery and Exploration Programs and Resources
Implements student use of tools for career exploration and
exposure including Focus 2, Vault, and information interviews.
Supports faculty integration of exposure/exploration assignments
with canvas and career panels.
Creates engaging content in relevant software (canvas, google
slides, portal) as appropriate.
Collaborates closely with student clubs and community partners
to create, customize, and execute general career discovery and
exploration experiences including support for SCALE
Creates and oversees logistical components for career
exploration/discovery experiences (career treks, career panels,
Connects students to relevant alums and collaborates with career
coaches to develop SUMMIT Career Connect.
- Cultivates relationships with alums as needed for building
career exposure/exploration programs.
Career Peer Program Leadership
Leads career peer program in close collaboration with CWS
Coordinator to grow awareness and student engagement with career
Coordinates training of career peers training and leads
bi-weekly meetings with support from career coaches.
Mentors career peers with co-programming, regular feedback and

- Experience with and basic knowledge of google-suite and
Microsoft software. Ability to adapt to new technologies/modes of
