Position Objective:

In support of the CDC Data, Analytics, and Visualization Task Force the candidate will provide support for the CDC's ongoing COVID-19 pandemic response as a Systems Management Analyst.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical expertise, support, and oversight in one or more emerging technology areas including, but not limited to, knowledge discovery, data mining, wireless communications, Internet technologies, secure messaging, enterprise engineering, fraud detection, intrusion detection, information assurance, public key infrastructure (PKI), and critical infrastructure protection.
  • Reviews and recommends solutions to customer problems based on prior experience and hands on understanding of how products and services interrelate and support the customer mission.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline. With ten (10) years general experience of which at least eight (8) years specialized experience, a degree is not required. 8 years experience, 6 years specialized experience. Specialized experience include, but are not limited to, disaster recovery, database frameworks, enterprise resource planning, J2EE, EJB, OLAP, CRM, HyperText Markup Language (HTML), HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Web portals, firewalls, computer network infrastructure/systems, geographic information systems, simulation applications, etc.
  • Experience with data analytics tools and methods
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and SharePoint
  • Due to the nature of this job, U.S. citizenship required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous CDC experience, preferably in an emergency response environment is preferred
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage and plan multiple, complex processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong aptitude in critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing task and complete multiple tasks efficiently
  • Highly organized, calm demeanor, personable and adaptable to changing situations and priorities
  • Ability to coordinate complex projects and think strategically
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Strong grammar, spelling, and writing skills
  • Experience playing a key role on a multidisciplinary team with work hours as deadlines require
  • Ability to quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies to meet customer needs
