Job Description:

You will be based on the east coast on our global in-house communications team. We work with the firm's practices and offices on overall strategy for external marketing and communications. You will report to the director of communications and will collaborate with a broader team of Marketing & Communications professionals.

You will work with leaders of McKinsey's practices and offices to identify priority audiences and messages, articulate differentiation, define the editorial agenda and frame the channel strategy.

In this role, you will work on a project basis, often with two or three projects in parallel, to support practice and office leaders in the planning, design and delivery of all aspects of marketing and communications (including messaging, collateral creation, storytelling, channel strategy, campaign design, execution and impact assessment). You will be responsible for reach & relevance and communications strategy. You will shape messaging and storytelling by articulating core messages and communicating them in collateral (messaging strategy and value proposition documents, website, brochures, videos, etc.) that is meaningful, memorable, and visually compelling. You will design effective omni-channel campaigns and annual communications plans that leverage the full range of potential channels (e.g. web, email, social and traditional media, video, events, webinars, influencers).

You will work with marketing and communications experts (designers, editors, developers, event planners, et al.) on execution to ensure timely, high-quality, on-budget delivery of each project. Our projects range across a diverse range of topics including banking, manufacturing, consumer, high tech, travel, organization, marketing & sales, strategy, operations, finance and digital - just to name a few. You will assess and analyze the client impact of campaigns, making mid-course adjustments as needed and incorporating learnings into future activity.

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B marketing with an international marketing and communications agency or global B2B services company including day-to-day handling of relationships, content marketing and strategic reputation building
  • Proven experience working closely with senior executives; adept at reconciling conflicting priorities within a fast-paced and influence-driven environment
  • Track record of developing high-end professional services communications strategies and executing them for large, high-profile, global brands
  • Outstanding storytelling skills across traditional formats (prose writing, .ppt) as well as digital (web, video, social)
  • Demonstrated project management experience; ability to get things done quickly in a fast-paced and low-structure environment
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of different personality types, areas of expertise and problem-solving styles
  • Outstanding ability to build strong and durable networks
  • Strong drive for quality execution and excellence with a can-do attitude
  • Skillful and confident negotiator who can achieve a fair outcome, influencing and advising stakeholders on what's the most effective
