It was on June 1, 1996, the founder, Lucy Hall opened the doors to her first 2 clients. Here, 24 years later Mary Hall Freedom Village is serving 250 participants and 80 children across 7 programs. MHFV has transformed the lives of over 15,000 individuals, not to mention their families and communities. We strive to continue breaking the cycle of homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and poverty.

We are currently looking to add 1 Full Time Mental Health Assistant to our Donna Center for Women located in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the participants we provide emergency housing services to. Your job will be to provide support services, and create a comfortable, caring environment for women and women with children entering the Donna Center for Women. Salary is competitive.

Responsibilities:

* Assists incoming residents in settling into living quarters by conducting a search of baggage and personal items, escorting them to assigned quarters, distributing bedding and personal care items, and providing introductions to roommates. * Informs DCW case management and/or management of any incidents needing immediate attention and completes incident reports when needed. * Makes daily rounds and room inspections to ensure that all participants are at their designated locations/appointments and ensure cleanliness of units. Documents findings and concerns from daily rounds and inspections. Reports as necessary. * Answers incoming calls and responds to callers in an appropriate manner and distributes all messages to appropriate staff. * Occasionally provides supportive services (i.e. reflection groups, and affirmations) and other therapeutic activities to participants and their children to effect positive change in behavioral and/or social settings. * Gathers daily paperwork, makes copies when necessary, and files and/or distributes as appropriate. * Provides transportation services to residents as needed. * Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Candidates must be able to pass a fingerprinting background check and drug test. They must also have a good 3- year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and a valid drivers license.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. CARES or CPS preferred.

Computer Skills: To perform this role successfully, you will need knowledge of, and be moderately skilled using the Microsoft Office Suite.
