Role Overview

The Incident Response Infrastructure DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the design, build, and support of technology infrastructure used by the Secureworks Incident Response team. The individual will be a key component of the Incident Response practice focused on building and supporting the cloud and on-premises storage, compute, and networking technology infrastructure services that are leveraged for cybersecurity analysis and advisory efforts carried out by a global team of remote and on-site technical staff.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with an experienced, global team of incident responders, threat hunters, and cybersecurity consultants to tailor and support business-critical technology infrastructure used for incident response, threat hunting, and cybersecurity advisory efforts.

This is mostly a remote position. However, the person in the role will need geographic proximity to the Atlanta area office to periodically receive and ingest digital media shipments from customers.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deploy and support open source, commercial, and proprietary technologies using infrastructure-as-code patterns, practices, and tools to enable technical staff to use the multi-site, multi-cloud technology infrastructure with uncompromising performance, availability, and security
  • Collaborate with delivery teams and various internal stakeholders to define operational state characteristics and to ensure high availability of the technology infrastructure
  • Mentor technical staff on how to use the technology infrastructure to their advantage and seek their feedback on ways the technology infrastructure can be continuously improved
  • Participate in on-demand production support efforts and on-call rotations with cross-functional team members for troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Document the technology infrastructure environments and support processes to ensure effective and efficient production support, capacity management, and improvement efforts
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to identify new processes, technologies, and infrastructure patterns to continuously improve the usability, availability, and security of the technology infrastructure

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience deploying and maintaining business-critical virtual and physical infrastructure for mixed Linux, Windows, and macOS computing environments for global remote workers
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience deploying and maintaining business-critical infrastructure within public cloud services, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience deploying and maintaining automation tools and techniques, including Packer, Vagrant, Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience deploying and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for testing and releasing configurations and software
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using Bash, Python, and PowerShell scripting languages for cross-platform configuration management purposes
  • Professional degree relevant to systems administration or systems engineering

Preferred Skills

  • Linux, Windows, and macOS administration experience
  • Experience configuring and deploying software in Linux, Windows, and macOS computing environments
  • Experience with DevOps and site reliability engineering concepts
  • Experience designing, building, and operating business-critical production environments used by a global technical staff
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies
  • Experience with monitoring and observability infrastructure and methodologies for distributed systems
  • Experience working with version control systems, issue tracking tools, and CI/CD systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent priority management and time management skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills for urgent and non-urgent efforts
  • Ability to thrive and collaborate with a geographically distributed cross-functional team that depend on the technology infrastructure to support customers
