Work on the next frontier of social science and make a difference around the world.

As a social science research consultant (NLP expert) at Gallup, you'll support analytics work for global government and other mission-driven survey research work. You'll design quantitative and qualitative research and data analysis plans, build data models, and analyze large survey datasets and secondary data sources to create research reports and presentations. You will use various tools, practices and frameworks - such as Python, R and natural language processing - to deliver actionable information for decision-makers across industries. You will build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders as you collaborate with research consultants, methodologists, engineers, vendors, clients and others to investigate pressing social issues.

With your strong intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, you'll serve as the face of Gallup as you present findings and consult with leaders on recommendations. Your curiosity, creativity and willingness to consider innovative research approaches will drive both traditional and experimental research that changes the world a little to a lot every day.

What you need:

  • Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or relevant area of study required
  • At least four years of professional experience (in an academic or paid professional capacity) required
  • Data science experience (e.g., data wrangling, predictive analytics, MLM, Bayesian statistics) required
  • Natural language processing (NLP) experience required (e.g., word embeddings, topic modeling, causal mapping, translation)
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as R or Python required
  • DOD or DARPA experience and an active security clearance preferred
  • Eligibility to work in the United States; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship
