The Senior Director, School Partnerships and Compliance owns the successful and healthy relationship with school partners and boards. Reporting to the General Manager, this role ensures adherence to education policy and compliance requirements and the structure of the school operations organization is effective and efficient.

Owns nurturing, growing and maintaining healthy relationships with school boards and district partners;

Effectively leverages executives through the executive advisor program to enhance board and district relationships;

Acts as an advocate and spokesperson in board meetings and provides timely, consistent and concise executive briefing to key leaders;

Owns executive communication of current relationship with board and partners; escalating risks to key leaders;

Ensures schools remain compliant through knowledge of state and charter laws and requirements;

Provides leadership and direction to the Heads of School (HOS) relative to school partners, policy and compliance;

Drives priorities for schools in areas of responsibilities to achieve deliverables;

Drives student and business success, holding themselves and others accountable for achieving shared goals and objectives;

Ensures annual compliance audits are conducted and corrective actions plans are effectively implemented.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2 - 4 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business or related field of study AND

Ten (10) years of education industry leadership experience OR

Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses : None required.

Other Required Qualifications:

Online educational and charter school experience

Demonstrated success a leader and in the professional development of school leadership

Experience with school operations, planning and implementation

Strong management skills including planning, directing, reporting, budgeting and administrative capabilities

Strong problem analysis and resolution skills – both strategically and functionally

Expert on state specific political processes

Must have a positive spirit and be passionate about education, educational choice and enabling students to be their best.

Must “own” this function and hold themselves and others accountable to developing and achieving rigorous business plans that drive continuous academic improvement.

Willing to surface innovative ideas and take controversial stands in pursuit of excellence.

Must have high integrity and build trust at all levels – internally and externally.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Ability to pass required background check

Desired Qualifications :

Master’s Degree

Knowledge of state funding systems and financial acumen

High comfort level around analyzing, revising, and negotiating contracts
