Job Description Job Description Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney Established (est. 25 Years) Premier Firm Seeking Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney for Insurance Coverage and Insurance Defense Litigation in Atlanta, GA An established firm based in Atlanta with over an estimated 25 years in practice is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney with 3 years of experience to join their team onsite. This Attorney will have experience with insurance coverage and insurance defense litigation , ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while representing clients in both litigation and advisory matters. The firm maintains a strong reputation in complex insurance coverage disputes and offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners on sophisticated matters. Offer: Salary range: $125,000-$165,000, contingent on experience Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. A 401(k) retirement plan with employer contribution. Qualifications: The candidate must be an attorney in good standing and admitted to the Georgia Bar or eligible for prompt admission. The candidate must have 3 years of experience in insurance coverage and insurance defense litigation gained at a law firm or in-house legal department. The candidate must have demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting a broad range of insurance policies, including commercial general liability, professional liability, excess and umbrella, and other specialty lines. The candidate must have experience drafting detailed coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and declination letters for insurer clients. The candidate must be proficient in handling all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, mediation, and trial preparation. The candidate must possess strong research and writing skills, including the ability to prepare high quality legal memoranda, briefs, and motions with minimal supervision. The candidate must be comfortable communicating directly with insurer clients, insureds, and co-counsel in a clear, professional, and timely manner. The candidate must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities in a fast paced environment. The candidate must demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent client service. The candidate must work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team of partners, associates, and staff. Responsibilities: The attorney will analyze insurance policies, claim files, and underlying pleadings to evaluate coverage, exclusions, endorsements, and conditions applicable to first and third party claims. The attorney will research and apply relevant statutes, case law, and regulatory authorities impacting coverage positions in Georgia and other applicable jurisdictions. The attorney will prepare clear, thorough, and practical coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and declination letters for insurer clients. The attorney will represent insurers and insureds in state and federal courts in Georgia, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and appearing at hearings as needed. The attorney will take and defend party, fact, and expert depositions in coverage and related liability matters. The attorney will participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and other alternative dispute resolution processes to advocate for clients and seek efficient resolutions of disputes. The attorney will develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and clients, including evaluating risk, exposure, and potential outcomes. The attorney will communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates, strategic recommendations, and candid assessments of liability and damages. The attorney will coordinate with claims professionals, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather information, align expectations, and ensure effective file handling. The attorney will manage case deadlines, comply with court rules and scheduling orders, and maintain organized files and documentation. The attorney will contribute to the firm's business development efforts as appropriate, including assisting with client presentations, training sessions, and thought leadership on insurance coverage topics. - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
