world around them.Primary Responsibilities
- Provides Operational support in the management of databases on
which KNA's applications store/retrieve data, troubleshooting and
resolution to Incidents and Alerts, including escalation to
provider as needed
The position requires availability for on-call rotation and to work
outside regular business hours and on weekends.
- Following and enforcing policies and procedures, Supports the
deployment of code and execution of complex tasks on KNA databases,
including but not limited to Application deployments, O/S and
Databases engines patches and upgrades, Data refreshes in
non-production environments, Security changes.
- Provides Operational KPIs to management and Database
engineering team
- Maintain/upgrade DBA tools, and settings (directly or by
request) of enterprise monitoring tools.
- Uses/maintain documentation/runbooks related to periodical
tasks, like: upgrades, environment refresh tool, security
changes.
- Engages and cooperates with the Database engineer team to
improve processes and procedures
- Where applicable, cooperates with Vendors to optimize their
work in Kaplan.Education & ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree
in IT or equivalent experience5+ years of support for both of these
technologies:
- PostgreSQL (AWS RDS)
- MongoDB/DocumentDB (AWS RDS/Atlas)Experience with any one
(Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, MSSQL) as secondary skillsStrong working
knowledge of optimization, troubleshooting and supporting of
supported technologyLarge high-availability production environment
residing on Amazon RDSLanguages used to support automation, like
Python and PowershellWorking knowledge of the platform supporting
the technologiesPreferred Qualifications
- Knowledge for MSFT Azure database technologies
- Experience and comfort using both Linux and Windows.
- Experience with Bash, Powershell, Python or comparable
scripting languages.
- Familiar with Agile methodologies, and use of tools like Google
