Job Description:

We are looking for an HR Specialist to join our team and monitor all Human Resources functions. This position is responsible for creating both traditional and non-traditional networks that will identify and attract talent professional and executive level positions. Oversee the day to day recruiting tasks and work closely with the Human Resources Department in other areas. Develops and conducts internal staff training in area(s) of recruiting, interviewing and selection process.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in recruitment and selection process
  • Assist with transferring from a manual system to developing, administering, and supporting the agency online applicant tracking system
  • Partnering with hiring managers to effectively address recruitment needs and issues in a timely manner and ensure position descriptions accurately reflect the work performed
  • Composing and posting employment advertisements to various internal and external media; and using social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates, researching new ways of using the Internet for recruitment
  • Participating in career fairs and reaching out to other entities to promote employment opportunities
  • Creating Recruitment Policy and Standard Operating Procedures Manual
  • Collaborating with Hiring Managers to review applications for employment and contacting applicants if needed, evaluating candidate qualifications against position descriptions before forwarding to hiring managers for consideration
  • Developing job-related interview questions, as requested, and maintaining an interview question 'bank'
  • In conjunction with the HOS and/or Human Resources Director, determining whether professional, external recruiting assistance is needed and negotiating any related contracts
  • Coordinate with external services to secure Substitutes when requested, Maintain and Manage substitute teacher's database, Substitute Exit process and responsible for equipment return
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans, analyzing, and recommending strategies to improve recruitment and selection process operations
  • Compiling recruitment statistics and creating reports as required
  • Ensuring legal compliance and validity of recruitment and selection activities and educating managers, supervisors, staff and the public on policies and procedures
