Payroll Accountant to join our Human Resources in Atlanta. The
department offers the opportunity for an accountant to join an
innovative and collaborate team focused on supporting payroll and
accounting practices and developing solutions to improve processes
and procedures. The Payroll Accountant will work closely with the
Human Resources and Finance teams and will report to the Associate
Director of HR Operations.

Candidates will have the following responsibilities:
- General Ledger subject matter expert interfacing with Finance
and accounting for monthly reconciliation.
- Supports the accounting team with month-end close process by
reconciling assigned general ledger accounts, investigating
discrepancies, generating payroll, tax, and other ad-hoc
- Assists with tax and benefits audits with payroll and benefit
service providers (including reviewing and coding vendor invoices).
Supports monthly Benefit account reconciliations.
- Payroll Audit lead including: Monthly (Parking Audit, DSL
Audit, Payroll Processing Audits, Month-end and net pay results
reporting, Tax reporting, Bank Reconciliation, International and
Domestic pay code auditing)
- Assist external auditors in quarterly reviews and annual
- Develops user procedures, guidelines and documentation by
reviewing policies, procedures and continually improve assigned
- Ensure that payroll reports are accurate and timely filed with
appropriate governmental authorities (i.e. tax filings)
- Back-up processer for multi-state payroll utilizing UltiPro for
salaried and hourly employees
- Develop, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries
utilizing appropriate reporting tools. (i.e. Cognos reporting
experience is preferred). Develops techniques for compiling,
preparing and presenting data.
Successful Candidates are detail oriented, efficient and have the
capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast
paced, high volume environment. Candidates should have
well-developed Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate
Excel proficiency (i.e., VLOOKUP's and pivot tables) and
demonstrate the ability to problem solve and communicate with all
levels of personnel. Candidates must have knowledge of
overtime/double-time pay rules and payroll tax compliance
requirements. Candidates should also have the ability to analyze
relationships of financial and non-financial data to spot variances
from normal. Candidates are required to have a Bachelor's degree in
Accounting or Finance; 3 years of job related experience in
accounting or payroll processing is preferred.
