Job Description:
Now Hiring: Full-Time Operations Supervisor Location: The
Classic Center – Athens, GA Department: Arena Do you thrive in a
fast-paced, event-driven environment? Are you a hands-on leader who
enjoys guiding teams, solving problems on the fly, and making sure
every detail is handled before the doors open? The Classic Center
is looking for a Full-Time Operations Supervisor to lead our arena
conversions, event setups, and operational crews for concerts,
hockey games, motorsport events, banquets, and more. This is a
full-time position with a flexible schedule — but expect your
primary shifts to be event days and overnights , where you’ll be
right in the middle of the action making sure everything is ready
to go. What to Expect: Full-time role with a mix of daytime,
evening, and overnight shifts depending on the event schedule.
Primary focus: leading arena conversions, event setups, and daily
operational tasks. Hands-on work alongside part-time and
third-party crews. The chance to directly impact guest experience
by ensuring events are set up safely, efficiently, and exactly as
planned. What You’ll Do: Plan and organize operational needs for
all events at least two weeks out. Attend planning meetings and
gather requirements from clients and staff. Create detailed
staffing and equipment plans for each event and communicate them
clearly to the crew. Lead and supervise event setups and
conversions — staging, tables, chairs, barricades, hockey glass,
ice decks, and more. Train and mentor part-time leaders to take
ownership of specific parts of each conversion. Ensure all safety
protocols are followed through training and oversight. Oversee
event-day setups and check in with Guest Services, Event Services,
and other teams for last-minute needs. Maintain and organize all
rolling stock and operational equipment. Support back-of-house
cleanliness, equipment inventory, and emergency preparedness
planning. Adapt quickly to last-minute changes and client requests.
What We’re Looking For: At least one year in a similar supervisory
role in an arena, stadium, convention center, or theater preferred.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle changing
priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Ability to
work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
Reliable transportation and a valid state driver’s license. Ability
to obtain and maintain a forklift license. A leader who balances
efficiency with a strong focus on customer service. Why You’ll Love
It Here: Every event is different, and you’ll be at the center of
making it all happen. You’ll lead a team that transforms the arena
from one setup to the next — from hockey rinks to concert stages to
massive event floors — and you’ll see the results of your
leadership when the crowd walks in and the show begins. The
candidate who is selected for this position will have to
successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check.
