Job Description:
What You’ll Do As a Sterile Processing Technician at
OrthoAtlanta, you’ll: Review the OR schedule and prepare supplies
and equipment based on surgeon preference cards and patient needs.
Ensure all instruments are functioning properly prior to use.
Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies, and
equipment according to established standards. Assemble, wrap, and
prepare trays for sterilization while maintaining accurate records.
Monitor biological and chemical indicators to ensure effective
sterilization and decontamination. Inspect, disassemble, sort,
clean, and process reusable instruments and equipment. Follow
manufacturer’s guidelines for proper use of cleaning agents and
sterilizers. Collaborate with Circulating RNs regarding special
equipment or supply needs. Maintain event-related products,
sterilization load parameters, and inventory sheets. Report
malfunctioning equipment promptly to appropriate staff or
leadership. Demonstrate competence in surgical instrument
identification and care. Support the surgical team by performing
additional center responsibilities as assigned by the Charge Nurse

What You’ll Need Completion of a surgical technology and/or sterile
processing program from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2
years of sterile processing or surgical instrumentation experience.
Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Strong
organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and
written communication abilities. Detail-oriented, professional, and
