Job Description:
TITLE Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse SCHEDULE -
Weekend: Rotation — details discussed in interview - Call:
Yes/variable — typically one weekday call per week and one weekend
every ~5–6 weeks ASSIGNMENT DETAILS - Contract Length: 13 weeks -
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified REQUIREMENTS - License: GA or
Compact license - Certifications: ACLS, BLS - Years of Experience:
Minimum 2 years clinical experience - EMR: Epic - Unit-specific
skills: CVOR/Main OR scrub experience with cardiac, vascular, and
thoracic procedures (examples include CABG, valve procedures, TAVR,
LVAD support, aneurysm repair, bypass grafting, carotid procedures,
VATS) ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide direct patient care in the
CVOR setting. - Assist with surgical procedures as a scrub nurse. -
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and
care quality. - Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes
to the medical team. - Educate patients and families regarding
preoperative and postoperative care. - Maintain and document
accurate patient records. COMPLIANCE / NOTES - Full compliance
required to start on time; failure to be compliant may delay start
by ~2 weeks. - Compliance document deadline: Tuesday prior to
start. - Two supervisory references (manager or above) highly
preferred at submission. - Candidates must be available to submit
core items and schedule labs within 48 hours of signing contract to
ensure on-time start. - If 1–2 major holidays fall during
assignment, traveler is expected to work them; if 3 fall during
assignment, traveler is expected to work two and one holiday RTO
may be reviewed. - Major holidays: Memorial Day; Independence Day;
Labor Day; Thanksgiving/Black Friday; Christmas Eve/Day; New Year’s
Eve/Day. - Privileging fee: $125 pre-application fee required for
CVOR First Assistant, OR Tech First Assistant, and RNFA
candidates.
