Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 8 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 - Length: 8 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position on a Dedicated Education Unit at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of experience in a large or high-volume hospital setting. Details - 30-bed Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) — travel nurses provide direct patient care and are not responsible for teaching or educational duties - Mixed Med/Surg patient population - Patient ratio of 5–6:1 - Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week - 4 weekend shifts required per month - Block scheduling is generally not approved - No on-call requirements Requirements - Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required - BLS required; ACLS preferred - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required - Experience in a large, high-volume, or Level 1 trauma hospital required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-acuity hospitals will not be considered - Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced, high-complexity patient situations Additional Information - This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center known for complex and high-volume cases - No RTO (time off requests) will be approved for this assignment - Local candidates are accepted for this position - A positive attitude and punctuality are emphasized for this role American Traveler Job ID P-687009.
