Job Description:
Job Description Position Summary The Board Certified Behavior
Analyst (BCBA) provides clinical oversight, assessment, and
treatment design for children and adolescents with individuals
receiving saABA and related developmental conditions. The BCBA
works under the supervision and direction of the Clinical Director
to ensure treatment is medically necessary, evidence-based,
compliant with Connecticut state law , HUSKY Health (Medicaid)
guidelines, payer policies, and the BACB Ethics Code . The BCBA
also provides direct supervision to RBTs/BTs and trains families,
caregivers, and other stakeholders to ensure meaningful outcomes in
accordance with prescribed programming. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services • Conduct comprehensive functional behavior
assessments (FBAs) and skill-based assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP,
ABLLS-R, AFLS, EFL, IISCA/FA) only directed by Clinical Director. •
Develop individualized ABA treatment plans that align with medical
necessity, ABA and/or Autism Taxonomy , and HUSKY Health coverage
criteria . • Implement evidence-based interventions across home,
clinic, school, and community settings. • Initiate and complete any
directives from Clinical Director • Collect, analyze, and review
data to guide clinical decision-making and modify treatment as
necessary. • Prepare progress reports and documentation required by
HUSKY Health and private payers for authorizations and
reauthorizations. • Ensure treatment planning incorporates
generalization, maintenance, family involvement, and
least-restrictive practices. Supervision & Training • Provide
competency-based training and ongoing supervision to RBTs/BTs in
compliance with BACB and Connecticut LBA requirements. Supervision
is to be maintained at a 10% rule in relations to clients’ hourly
treatment designation. • In regards to Direct supervision BCBA must
attend session in person at least 25% of the time unless otherwise
directed by Clinical Director • Conduct fidelity checks and ensure
accurate implementation of intervention procedures. • Model
evidence-based interventions for staff, families, and other
stakeholders. • Ensure all staff under supervision maintain proper
documentation, clinical accuracy, and adherence to the treatment
plan. • Support staff in meeting BACB supervision requirements for
certification/maintenance when applicable. Compliance & Quality
Assurance • Uphold all Connecticut laws/regulations governing ABA
services, including mandated reporting, HIPAA, and DPH licensure
standards. • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in the
electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with payer and agency
requirements. • Participate in internal audits, quality improvement
initiatives, and clinical review meetings led by the Clinical
Director. • Adhere strictly to the BACB Ethics Code and
organizational Code of Conduct. • Participate in incident reporting
and review processes as required by CT regulations and
organizational policy. • Pass two performance evaluations a year: 6
month and yearly (having possibly impact on salary due to
performance). • Perform Performance evaluations of RBT/BT under
your supervision twice a year. Family & Interdisciplinary
Collaboration • Train technicians in evidence-based strategies to
increase generalization and independence in natural settings. •
Collaborate with teachers, physicians, therapists, and other
providers to ensure integrated care. • Attend IEP/504 meetings and
contribute behavioral expertise as needed. • Maintain open and
consistent communication with families regarding treatment goals,
progress, and discharge planning. Professional Growth & Team
Contribution • Attend mandatory trainings, continuing education
sessions, and professional development activities. • Maintain
active Connecticut Behavior Analyst License (LBA) and BCBA
certification in good standing. • Participate in clinical team
meetings and contribute to program development under the guidance
of the Clinical Director. • Assist with onboarding and training of
new RBTs, interns, and clinical team members. Qualifications
Required • Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology,
Education, or related field. • Current Board Certified Behavior
Analyst (BCBA) credential. • Current Connecticut Behavior Analyst
License (LBA) in good standing (or immediate eligibility). •
Minimum 2 years of supervised experience providing ABA services to
individuals with autism or related developmental disabilities. •
Demonstrated knowledge of functional analysis, skill acquisition
programming, and behavior reduction strategies. • Strong knowledge
of HUSKY Health/Medicaid ABA coverage policies and payer
documentation requirements. • Excellent written and verbal
communication skills; ability to work with diverse families and
interdisciplinary teams. • Proficiency with electronic health
record systems and clinical data collection platforms. Preferred •
Experience supervising RBTs/BTs in a Medicaid-funded ABA program. •
Familiarity with school systems (IDEA/IEPs) and coordination of ABA
within educational programs. • Bilingual (English/Spanish or
English/ASL). • Experience in center-based, home-based, and
