Are YOU ready to join us?Description:Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Intern procures, receives, prepares, packages, distributes, and disposes of medications and pharmaceutical supplies to assist the department in providing quality pharmaceutical care for all patients.Shift Time: 7:30a-3pMaintains accurate records and established inventory of drugs and commonly used supplies; re-orders and stocks items upon delivery to ensure immediate availability.Properly operates, troubleshoots, monitors, and cleans departmental automation and equipment. Calibrates IV pumps and other equipment as needed.Respond timely to customers needs by answering phone calls, counseling patients, receiving and distributing messages, and triaging requests appropriately.Assists with operational support functions, including inventory management, departmental cleaning, disinfecting, and decontaminating to maintain a safe work area.Corrects discrepancies identified by the performance improvement process.May also participate in direct patient care activities under the supervision of a pharmacist, including but not limited to, medication history interviews, medication education/patient counseling, medication management, vaccination administration, pharmacokinetic monitoring, drug information support.Minimum Qualifications:Acceptance and/or active enrollment in accredited College of Pharmacy.Active Georgia Pharmacy Intern License.Pharmacy Intern Salary:$25.25/hour (flat rate)This position is eligible for shift differentials.Additional Details:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
