SummaryProvides occupational therapy treatments as designed by the
supervising occupational therapist. Independent, ongoing care is
provided in consultation with the occupational therapist regarding
changes in treatment. Exhibits appropriate skills as indicated on
the skills checklist. This position will care for patients in the
adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Employee performs
clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines
and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy
and procedures. Minimum Job Qualifications
- Licensure or other certifications: Current license holder of
the Georgia Board of Occupational Therapy
- Educational Requirements: Associates Degree
- Minimum Experience: When educational requirements are met, no
experience is necessary
- Other: Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational
Therapy, Assistant. New grads will be given six (6) months from
date of hire to obtain GA Board Licensure Preferred Job

requirements to provide patient care that meets developmental needs
across the life span Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provides quality rehabilitative care to patients as outlined in
the treatment plan.
- Documentation is completed in a timely manner and according to
regulatory agencies and program policy. Performance is monitored by
the occupational therapist and program manager.
- Notifies appropriate therapist of the patient's progress and
suggests changes in the plan of care when indicated.
- Assists in discharge planning by assuring the patient has
appropriate equipment at home, and family is aware of a home
exercise program. Performance monitored by feedback from discharge
planners and occupational therapist.
- Ensures re-evaluation of the patient and plan of care is
completed by the therapist, and all discharge assessments are
completed by the therapist.
- Asks for assistance from other staff when necessary for patient
care and safety.
- Delegates appropriately to techs and works within the Georgia
state practice act for occupational therapy, and according to the
code of ethics established by the AOTA. Physical Demands
