RN, Clinical Supervisor - General Surgical/Bariatric Unit - Atlanta, GAPosition DescriptionThe Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population.While we see a diverse patient population, our unit's primary focus is on general, bariatric, and colorectal surgeries. General surgery cases can include such procedures as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, thyroidectomies and small bowel resections. Our colorectal surgery population consists of patients with long standing histories of Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's and diverticulitis or new diagnosis of colon cancer who now require surgical intervention. With this population, the nursing team works closely with our Wound and Ostomy team to give these patients the emotional and physical support they need to recover. As a Bariatric Center for Excellence, our team provides a life-changing weight loss surgeries to patients while providing them with education and emotional support to successfully accomplish this goal.Position RequirementsREQUIRED: 1. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one (1) year of nursing experience in area of specialty. 2. Associates Degree with three (3) years' clinical experience OR Bachelor's in Nursing with Two (2) years' clinical experience. 3. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills. 4. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. 5. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). 6. Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs PREFERRED: 1.
