Job Summary – (Role Summary) The VP, Revenue Management will provide direction, oversight and revenue management leadership for the Americas region, including regional revenue manager support and revenue management services. Provide strategic direction to ensure a wide range of program and service offerings exist to ensure effective revenue management is implemented at the hotel level. Oversee activities of Americas based regional revenue managers to provide support and implementation of revenue strategies for managed, owned, leased and franchise properties utilizing regional revenue management support to maximize revenue and profit streams. Oversee revenue management services program to ensure portfolios of hotels receive all facets of pricing, demand analysis, yield management, market segmentation, business mix optimization, selling strategies and tactics to maximize revenue and profit stream. Engage hotel and regional operations leadership and facilitate the successful implementation of revenue management strategies and systems for assigned hotels to ensure the successful delivery of revenue and market share targets. Accomplish goals and objectives through technical and professional staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities) Provide strategic leadership to ensure a wide range of RM services and consulting exists for hotels. Evaluate and monitor services to ensure they remain applicable over time. Integrate with Global teams to ensure consistent processes and procedures are implemented globally, and that best practices are shared amongst regions. Provide business input and thought leadership around all revenue management (and revenue management related) initiatives. Work closely with Revenue Management Analytics and Strategy, and Systems and Tools teams to ensure system revenue management functionality is world class. Create a center of excellence for sourcing revenue management talent, hiring, and onboarding to ensure continuous excellence in services delivered. Evolve fee structure and ensure correct cost recovery models are in place to ensure long term success of services and regional revenue management teams. Direct, Regional Revenue Managers and Service Teams on revenue maximization to achieve the utilization of the Company’s Global Business Service resources; Revenue Management, E-commerce, Distribution, Loyalty Marketing, Reservations (MACRO), and Global Sales. Drive implementation of brand pricing strategies, yield strategies, selling strategies and revenue management best practices for portfolios of hotels. Investigate and communicate new ways to capture optimal revenue potentials. Provide feedback to Global Brand Service departments to ensure revenue-generating improvements are incorporated into system and strategy enhancements or best practices. Deploy revenue performance strategies and metrics to assist portfolios of hotels and Operations teams with strategic sales, pricing and product position. Ensure RevGen Index and revenue performance goals are achieved. Develop relationships with the Operations Leadership, and key company stakeholders to ensure revenue management strategies are communicated and implemented in a consistent manner. Assist in resolving complex issues with key decision-makers at the hotel level. Create and maintain relationships with the IAHI, Owners, Principle Correspondents, and others to ensure that Revenue management processes and principles are implemented correctly. Support marketing program/product implementation as needed or requested. Plan, organize, control and lead subordinate functions within established budgetary and manpower plans; establish goals, performance standards, and operating procedures for assigned functions. Participate in creation of department staffing and capital budgets. Lead, develop and direct Americas Regional Revenue Management and Revenue Management Services teams; hire, fire, assess, discipline, document performance, recommend salary and classification changes. Act as an advisor to subordinate managers or staff to help meet established schedules and/or resolve technical or operational problems. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hotel Management, Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. Experience: 15+ years progressive work-related experience in hotel operations management, revenue management, or consulting, with demonstrated proficiency in central reservations systems and revenue management systems, preferably HOLIDEX Plus and PERFORM, including knowledge and experience in hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization, selling strategies, and business analysis. 7 to 10 years of experience in managing teams and/or significant complex projects. Technical Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff. Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with franchisees and hotel owners. Demonstrated effective conflict management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skills to persuade GM’s, Principal Correspondents and other hotel representatives to modify or implement various corporate-sponsored programs and initiatives. Demonstrated experience with industry and market trends as they relate to revenue opportunities, and demonstrated ability to drive revenue. Demonstrated knowledge of effective hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization and selling strategies, and ability to determine which concepts to apply in given market conditions. Demonstrated experience in industry training, including preparation, implementation and delivery of training programs. Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to use the results of analysis to make effective strategic decisions. Strong knowledge of CRS and RMS (HOLIDEX Plus and PERFORM preferred). Good understanding of other integrated systems, such as PMS, GDS, CRO tools, Offline Reporting, Internet, etc.
