FLSA Exempt FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a
baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human

Qualifications
- Experience supervising, leading, and developing IT teams.
- Experience in developing and implementing IT strategies and
plans.
- Experience managing complex IT projects and resources,
including budget oversight, vendor management, and risk
mitigation.
- Knowledge of university IT standards, security protocols, data
privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA , HIPAA ), and accessibility
guidelines.Position Summary The Information Technology (IT)
Director for the College of Family and Consumer Sciences is
responsible for contributing to IT strategic and/or tactical
planning, and the evaluation and implementation plan for a unit,
department, or college. The IT Director provides technology
services that meet the University standards for design, security,
and delivery. This individual will communicate effectively among
faculty, staff, administration, students, and appropriate IT
resource providers at the University. This position will provide
the supervision of IT professionals and will have decision-making
responsibilities at the unit level. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
and/or Competencies
- Working knowledge of technology infrastructure including
related software and hardware as applied in a large and
organizationally varied unit.
- Experience with task and project management.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Ability to conduct critical data analysis.
- Supervisory experience overseeing technical support personnel
responsible for security, upkeep, and improvements for all servers,
storage, and networking.Physical Demands
- Working at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Lifting/moving computers and related equipment.Is driving a

Duties/Responsibilities
- Oversees project management, resource management, and effective
communication among faculty, staff, administration, students, and
appropriate IT resource providers at the University.
- Manages the identification, selection, and application of
appropriate technology resources to support the college and the
University goals for instruction, research, and public
service.
- Develops and creates the college's short term and long-term
technology plan as well as setting goals for OTIS .
- Provides technology-related research and guidance to the
College.Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
- Supervises staff to ensure they provide excellent customer
service, stay informed about emerging technologies, and apply them
appropriately in their job duties.
- Oversees the OTIS team by coordinating staff, resolving
personnel matters, making decisions on equipment and support needs,
setting goals and objectives.
- Ensures technology services and resources provided under the
leadership of this position meet University standards for design,
security, and delivery.Percentage of time 25
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manages providing research, specifications, and pricing
information for new equipment being purchased within the
College.
- Oversees the Student Technology Fee and all other College
technology budgets.Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities
- Represents the college on various university level committees
as well as many college level committees and is involved in policy
recommendations to the university through membership in IT Managers
Forum ( ITMF ) and policy recommendation sub-committees.
- Responsible for maintaining and implementing university
policies within the college as related to technology and its use
within the College.
- Serves as the technical security liaison with EITS (Enterprise
Information Technology Services) for the College of Family &
Consumer Sciences.Percentage of time 15Contact
