Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: - The Human Resources Manager is responsible
for assisting the Director of Human Resources with a variety of
Human Resources functions. He/she - must source, recruit and
recommend candidates for hire to meet company guidelines and
employment laws. Knowledgeable in current labor trends in the local
area and the hospitality industry. He/she is responsible for
managing the training process on the property. He/she will conduct
needs assessments and implement action plans to address training
needs. Must recommend, design and deliver training to departments
and staff by working with external vendors and internal
sources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES; -
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Efficiently manage the HR department but not limited to
assisting in other department.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses
of action quickly and accurately.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace,
including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving
problems as necessary.
- Approach all encounters with guests and team members in an
attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain standards of personal appearance and grooming, which
include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
- Comply at all times with Brand and APSILON Hotels Standards and
regulations to encourage safe and efficient environment.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Recruit, interview and assist department managers in hiring for
their department.
- Develop a resume database for current and future positions.

- Maintain an active recruitment source listing.
- Update internal job posting and post jobs on varies career
boards on a weekly basis.
- Manage the employment process to ensure completion of
post-offer requirements. Including reference checks, drugs screens
and background investigations.
- Conduct the New Hire Orientation.
- Conduct the New Hire Onboarding process.
- Establish and maintain employee records, ensure employee
changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis. Review
changes for proper authorization and adherence to
federal/state/local regulations.
- Maintain advertising logbook, recruitment and training budget
to maximize advertisement and training dollars.
- Implement the Brand and Company's Safety Training Program and
follow-up with each department to ensure training is complete on
monthly basis.
- Conduct annual training needs assessments to determine
property's priorities.
- Research, recommend and design staff training programs using
accepted training techniques, materials and sources.
- Administer disciplinary actions (verbal/written) when
necessary.
- Assist each department with on the job training and providing
tools and resources for development and growth.
- Respond and submit information to GA Department of Labor
unemployment claims in a timely manner.
- Oversee employee's timecards for by weekly payroll processing,
ensure vacation time off and leave of absence for managers and
employees are maintain accurately and timely.
- Handle all benefit inquiries, new hire selection, life change
events, 401K enrollment/rollover and terminations relating to
employee benefits-COBRA.
- Process Family Medical Leave of Absence-FMLA, STD and workers
compensation.
- Monitor employee incidents, follow up for wellness with
employee and maintain accurate incident report records.
- Assist in other Human Resources initiatives as requested, i.e.
Social Activities, Company Newsletter, coordinating job fairs,
update property's licenses and permits, at times conduct random
inspections and projects. MARGINAL
- Write articles for property newsletter.
- Assist with special projects; plan team member events
(meetings, picnic, and parties).
- Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education &
Experience:
- At least 2 years of Human Resources experience in a hotel or
related industry; or a 4-year college degree and 2 years of related
experience.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Must be proficient in windows PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Long hours sometimes required
- Sedentary work - exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently
or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background
and drug test.
