Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Director (AD) of Clinical Operations
for Physician Group Practice (PGP) serves on the leadership team
for a designated Service Line or Clinical Department within Emory
Healthcare. The AD will report to and assist the Director of
Patient Care Practice by providing operational support and
leadership for the clinical practice managers and indirect
oversight of the clinical staff across the department. Senior
Managers of Clinical Services and Operations and Nurse Managers
will directly report to Assistant Director of Clinical Operations,
PGP. The AD will provide leadership to the Sr Managers and Managers
for oversight of clinical staff and operations, and serve as a
liaison with the various practices and the service line/clinical
department team. Support will be provided by a thorough knowledge
of EHC policies, procedures and human resource management. The
position will serve as the point person for educational initiatives
and support the managers with operational implementation of
programs related to clinical support staff procedures,
standardization, competency and quality initiatives. Responsible
for overseeing new manager orientation and on-going education and
training of clinical managers in the department.. The AD will
assist with planning capital, staffing and operational budgets for
practices. The AD will serve on various PGP and EHC committees and
teams and will have strong emphasis on relationship building and
change management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in
Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Masters degree in
Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a
related field preferred. All nurses employed in roles requiring an
unencumbered nursing license must have a valid, active license or
temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. 3-5 years
of healthcare experience and two (2) years of leadership required,
some experience in the Ambulatory setting preferred. Must be able
to travel within a 1-2 hour radius several days a week. PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work
day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently);
01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max;
Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing &
walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing,
reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned
work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting
environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area
and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to:
Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste
Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical
shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor
conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries,
Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal
protective equipment, including respirators, environmental
conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work
tasks.
