Newell Brands seeks an experienced, enthusiastic and strategic
communications professional with outstanding writing skills and a
strong work ethic to join the Corporate Communications team as a
Manager responsible for Internal Communications. This is a
fantastic opportunity on an award-winning team for someone who is
passionate about developing and executing best-in-class internal
communications and contributing to high-visibility efforts.
Overview
As an individual contributor, the Internal Communications manager
will provide communications support to our senior leadership,
including at times our President & CEO and CFO, and many of our
enterprise teams, including Sales, Supply Chain, eCommerce/Digital,
Finance, and Information Technology. The Internal Communications
manager will work closely with these stakeholders and other members
of the Corporate Communications team to develop and execute
strategic plans, campaigns and communications for organizational
changes, leadership changes, restructuring, transformation
initiatives, internal news and announcements, corporate programs
and initiatives that support the company's priorities and business
strategy. The Internal Communications manager must have excellent
business writing skills to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
---Build strong, trusted partnerships with stakeholders.
---Develop a deep understanding of our business and anticipate
communications' needs.
---Develop clear, thoughtful and strategic corporate communications
and campaigns.
---Write, edit and deploy impactful content including, but not
limited to, internal emails and announcements, talking points,
presentations, executive messages and other internal communications
that inform, educate and inspire employees.
---Develop and lead internal communications initiatives in support
of our communications priorities.
---Appropriately convey the voice of executive leaders in
leadership communications.
---Partner with Corporate Communications colleagues to ensure
harmonization of messaging and standards and consistency in
messaging across internal and external communications
initiatives.
---Collaborate with other members of the Corporate Communications
team and support where needed.
Requirements
---Bachelor's degree at a 4-year college or university, ideally in
journalism, English, communications or public relations.
---Eight to ten years of professional experience in a fast-paced
corporate or agency environment, focused on corporate/internal
communications and/or transformation/change management and/or
executive communications.
---Outstanding business writing, editing and proofreading
skills.
---Ability to distill complex business concepts, issues and
initiatives into clear, concise messages and to write leadership
communications in our executives' voices.
---Strategic thinker, capable of asking the right questions to
ensure communications projects meet objectives.
---Proactive and solution-oriented.
---Excellent professional judgment, integrity and
accountability.
---Ability to navigate complicated, sensitive situations with
professionalism and ease.
---Ability to present to executives and stakeholders with
confidence.
---Commitment to continuous improvement and executional
excellence.
---Experience with navigating change and adjusting accordingly.
---Highly collaborative; willing to pitch in and help where
needed.
---Sense of humor and ability to roll with the punches.
---Willing and able to travel as necessary (approx. 5-20% travel in
post-pandemic circumstances).
---A writing test is required.
