Under limited supervision, manages projects through the full life cycle from project definition and approval through implementation and evaluation of all project deliverables. Provides guidance to the project team. May also serve in a lead role.

The DeKalb County School District is seeking a senior level Project Manager who has experience in managing software project initiatives, with some experience with large business and/or school systems. Understanding the processes and agile methodologies are a plus for the applicant. Under limited supervision, manages projects through the full life cycle from project definition and approval to implementation and evaluation of all project deliverables, to project closure. Create a collaborative partnership with all internal and external team members to accomplish the deliverables within the timeframes and budgets defined. Lead project teams and work closely with managers responsible for business and student software applications. Knowledge of standard PM tools such as Project Online or Pro, Asana, SharePoint, Visio, Office 365 Suite, etc., to share project plans and manage overall communication with stakeholders. Exceptional at documentation, tracking and monitoring a budget. Knowledge of district-wide and/or company-wide implementations. Have some knowledge and/or experience with rollouts that include IT end-user devices, infrastructure projects, and IT components in construction projects (new builds and renovations). Prepare detailed project plan for all phases of the project. Report weekly on project success, criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities, to include project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and risks/issues. Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Personal Qualities and Experience: Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills are needed. Well-developed communication skills oral, written, listening. Good analytical and negotiation skills, and close attention to detail. More than five years of demonstrated, relevant project management experience in managing large complex programs/projects utilizing multiple delivery methodologies using the Agile principle/approach to various methodologies (i.e., Waterfall, Scrum, Lean, Six Sigma, or etc.) is required.

Education and Certifications: "Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. Project Management Certification (PMP) or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is required.
