Rhodes Workforce by promoting overall Employee well-being, health and safety, as well as developing employees knowledge, skills and abilities, in accordance with all applicable state laws and regulations, including A.G. Rhodes policies and procedures. This position is responsible for organizing, assessing, planning and implementing Education and In-services for all departments within the community, as well as overseeing the Employee Wellness and Health programs. This position requires an RN license, and a unique and dynamic combination of management, leadership, interpersonal, teaching and clinical skills to support the Talent Development and Wellness needs of the community.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.* Effectively implement and manage A.G. Rhodes Education and Wellness Initiatives* Manage and Promote successful wellness program within community, including but not limited to Wellness incentive programs, Wellness education, and Fitness/Wellness workshops to drive employee engagement* Consistently work to improve overall wellbeing, health and safety of employees* Plan and coordinate Employee appreciation events and implement employee retention initiatives* Manage the A.G. Rhodes Academy LMS including content, assigning and scheduling education plans and in-services, and overall support to ensure optimal Employee engagement* Ensure all mandatory in-services are completed in accordance with A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab s policies as well as State and Federal regulations* Ensure all C.N.A. In-service hours are recorded and reported to the State in Annual report* Compile weekly vacancy report from all departments, including ad placement requests, and submits to Corporate Human Resources Director* Assist Department Heads with candidate interviews as needed* Assist with applicant processing, including but not limited to pre-employment drug screens, ensuring completion of employee drug screen consent, health questionnaire and HIPAA release* Complete all License verifications and maintain Provider Trust system* Assist employees with license and certification renewals* Management of CPR Certifications, including obtaining copies of CPR cards, ensuring all Licensed personnel are current, and scheduling CPR classes as needed* Schedule, coordinate and participate in New Hire Orientations* Promote, schedule, coordinate and conduct Intern orientations and rotation schedules with outside educational institutions* Promote retention and positive onboarding experiences by ensuring new hires are shadowing appropriate preceptors/care partners* Ensure completion of Skills assessments and check-offs for Clinical employees, including maintaining records and updating assessments/check-offs as needed* Provide proper PPE training and distribute appropriate PPE to new hires* Participate in Quality Assurance as IP and support QAPI projects as needed* Participate in and support various A.G. Rhodes committees, including but not limited to: Quality Assurance, Safety & Disaster Preparedness, Wellness, and Preceptor committees* Conduct rounds looking for opportunities to educate, coach and advise care partners and to ensure that employees are performing their work assignments in accordance with A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab s policies and procedures, and build education programs around trends.* Meet regularly with Director of Nursing, Therapy, Social Services and Nurses to determine elder specific training needs.* Maintain all Employee Health records to ensure accuracy, HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of all Employee records* Complete all Employee physicals and TB screenings, including PPDs and/or ordering Chest X-Rays. Ensures all employees have current Physicals and TB screenings on file* Manage all Workers Compensation claims, including but not limited to completing First Report of Injury, conducting investigations, obtaining witness statements, transitional duty assignments and promoting recovery of injured employee* Transfer and Body Mechanic training as well as clinical demonstrations including use of all lifts and transfer techniques* Ensure all Employees follow established infection control protocol at all times to prevent spread of infection. Assist with all incidents and environmental factors that involve infection control* Maintain and monitor infection control logs* Ensure Bloodborne Pathogen compliance, including education and administration of all Hepatitis B Vaccines* Influenza Vaccine Administration to ensure compliance with A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab s Policy* Assist and support Department Heads and Supervisors with Employee Coaching* Assist in policy education and new policy implementation* Act as a role model for all Employees, always demonstrating a high standard of service that supports the organization s mission and values* Offer creative educational opportunities and experiences that contribute to growth and development for all members of the community, staff, residents, family, volunteers and visitors* Encourage care partners to attend and/or participate in outside training programs as budget allows* Respond in a timely manner to all Employee requests* Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencies* Attend daily morning stand-up meeting* Adapt to changes in the work environment; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Especially with recognizing that loneliness, helplessness and boredom account for the bulk of suffering among our elders.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. At least two years of Management or Supervisory experience in a Long-term Care or Skilled Nursing community. Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing long-term care communities. Infection Preventionist Certification preferred. Experience educating in a Healthcare setting preferred. Excellent time-management skills. Extremely self-motivated individual with computer skills. Strong knowledge of Wellness programming.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This is a Department Head position. No direct reports but will assist fellow Department Heads and Supervisors with managing Employee performance and promoting development. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing and hiring employees. Education and training of employees; planning, assigning and directing work; assisting with appraising performance; rewarding and assisting with coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in the English language. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Able to read and interpret written information. Excellent communication and public speaking skills.LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:Current RN license from the State Board of Nursing. CPR/First Aid certification required.
