Job Description:

Our client is seeking organized, motivated, and creative candidates for the position of Director Violence Intervention.

The Hospital Based Violence Intervention Program Director (HB-VIPD) is responsible for working autonomously to coordinate day-to-day management of operational and evaluation activities related to the IVYY, Violence Intervention Program (VIP). This position also provides administrative support, as well as coordination between research and clinical needs of VIP. The employee will assist IVYY's Leadership Team with program development and administrative functions, including grant writing, reporting, and regulatory activities, data, and budget management, and serving as an internal and external liaison to build partnerships and strategically plan for program sustainability while helping to establish trauma informed practices within the hospital setting.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Program Director must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem- solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of all responsibilities, functions, and initiatives.
  • The employee must be able to organize and independently prioritize work, establish processes, procedures, and systems, and ensure orderly and timely workflow.
  • Prevention Coordinator.
  • Internal/external networking.
  • Provide oversight for all IVYY VIP Volunteers and Vendors.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly program meetings for stakeholders and staff.
  • Assist with development of contracts, consultant agreements, POs, MOUs, etc.
  • Assist with preparation of manuscripts and presentations for dissemination.
  • Participate in preparing grants and funding proposals.
  • Manage internal hospital based collaborations (PR/Marketing, Trauma, Pediatrics, Volunteer Office, Government Affairs, Social Work).
  • Serve as point of contact for external stakeholders, organize site visits, and respond to information requests.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly trainings and all staff in-services regarding IVYY.
  • Program Coordination and oversight.
  • Grant reporting.
  • Managing data requests.
  • Trauma informed messenger.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Assist with program and grant reporting activities, including management of documents and submissions to funding agencies and/or review/monitoring boards (e.g., Hospital leadership, Trauma Program, American College of Surgeons).
  • Support IRB submissions.

    Education & Required Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Proficient in preparing data and programmatic content for executive review and presentation
    • Experience leading teams
    • Experience with program development and management
    • Prepare study/program documents, including data collection forms, and intervention materials
    • Data Management/Research Support
    • Serve as liaison between Cure Violence sites, community-based organizations, clinical project team, research team, and database vendor (TBD)
    • Provide routine surveillance and verification of data quality and completeness and work with appropriate staff to address issues, as noted
    • Provide routine data reports for funders, internal stakeholders, and other partners, as needed
    • Program Development and Strategic Planning
    • Pursue funding options and plan for sustainability
    • Maintain and routinely update program manuals, in partnership with Injury
    • Master's degree preferred; LCSW preferred
    • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thoroughness, organization, and attention to detail.
    • Able to work independently, under the supervision of IVYY leadership, but with the ability to work well as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
    • Applicants must be able to multitask, follow instructions, and demonstrate dependability.
    • Ability to work under tight timelines to meet important deadlines is critical.
    • Applicants should have high computer proficiency with specific knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Prior experience with medical records (EPIC, QudraMed and statistical software (i.e. SAS or STATA) is preferred.
    • Obtain certification in one or more of the following (or equivalent certifications) within 1 year of hire:
    • SPARCS - Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescence Responding to Chronic Stress
    • CTRP - Certified Trauma & Resilience Practitioner
    • Peer Mentor Certification
    • Street Outreach Certification
