Requisition ID: 1219 Sr. Director of FMS - The goal of the Sr.
Director of FMS is to fulfill company objectives and adhere to
accounting and reporting policies. Ensures Palco meets its
fundamental responsibility to clients in the form of accurate and
timely payments, billing, and withholding for programs per contract
specifications while adhering to all State and Federal Laws. This
includes performing reconciliation activities, reviewing and
analyzing finances, ensuring compliance with regulations and
refining reporting documentation. - Duties & Responsibilities - -
-Plans and - manages the general accounting functions of the
department, including a team of payroll and Accounts Payable
processing, medical billing, client invoicing, bank and general
ledger reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, and
ongoing tax filings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. - -
Develops accounting organizational strategies by contributing
accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations
to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional
objectives in line with organizational objectives ; offering
recommendations for improvement; and, implementing new processes
within the department as the need arises. - -Maintains responsible
for monitoring the overall health of the program financial
statements, including ensuring transactions are recorded properly
and timely; performing analysis on tax and payroll filings; and
comparing collections against disbursements in a centralized
ledger. - Consolidates and streamlines the performance of daily
accounting duties related to program operations, including all
tasks associated with processing payroll, filing and reporting
required payroll taxes and tax reports, and performing
reconciliations. - - Provides financial statements to management on
a monthly basis - - Researches and develops procedures regarding
new processes associated with tax reporting. - Supervises, hires,
trains, evaluates, and disciplines staff. - Provides reports to Sr.
Executives. - Oversees quality assurance measures for division
processes -and develops and maintains ongoing departmental audits.
- - Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned. -
Writing and testing department procedures. - Maintains internal
controls over financial transactions. Overseeing customer contracts
as it relates to financial reporting. - Skills and Qualifications -
Excellent organization and time-management skills. - Communicates
effectively with a range of individuals using person-centered
techniques in all interactions. - Works with a sense of urgency and
professionalism. - Sound verbal and written communication skills. -
Ability to effectively develop and train accounting staff. - - Must
possess advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, Adobe,
PowerPoint, -some accounting programs (e.g., Sage, Quickbooks,
etc.), - email and Internet and have the ability to work with large
data sets in Excel. - Must have good problem-solving and listening
skills. - Ability to take a customer-centered approach to solving
customer issues. - - -Must have sound understanding of GAAP. -
Education and Experience - -Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
required. - CPA or 5-10 years of managerial accounting or
bookkeeping experience required. - Working knowledge of customer
