Job Description:
As a Cloud Product Manager, you will manage existing products
and services along with creating/integrating new products. As a
Cloud Product Manager, you will conduct industry/market research in
order to determine product demand, positioning, and availability.
You will create formal business cases and product descriptions
being responsible for the overall strategy, development, lifecycle
operations, and profitability of our public, private and hybrid
cloud, service portfolios.Responsibilities
- Own and drive the success of emerging product lines around
Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, etc) related services as well as
VMware-based cloud solutions.
- Define the vision, market, competitive positioning, and pricing
for the suite of cloud services.
- Gather, and prioritize requirements, product definition, and
project management of cross-functional peer teams (across
engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and finance departments)
in order to deliver on-time, in-budget successful deployments.
- Guide and manage complete Cost optimization process, and
workload, analyze market demands and trends.
- Gather, analyze and prioritize customer feedback and
requirements and translate into frictionless yet profitable
services
- Be the advocate and evangelist for internal and external
stakeholders and clients, including webinar participation, position
papers and training / public speaking,
- Project management of a cross-functional peer team (across
engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and finance departments)
to deliver on-time, in-budget successful products,
- Own responsibility for overall product line profitability and
reporting
- Responsible for creating product documentation including
product descriptions, operating guides, sales collateral and
training guidesExperience
- Enterprise cloud technology experience: 3+ years preferred
- Prior product management experience: 3+ years preferred
- Experience with Public cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, etc.)
- VMware cloud infrastructure experience
- Private, public and hybrid cloud as well as cloud-native
integration and interoperability familiarity
- Cloud storage, data protection and backup vendor and operations
familiarity and experience
- Private, public and hybrid cloud as well as cloud-native
integration and interoperability product development or management
experience
- Documentation experience: Writing sales collateral, operations
guides, diagrams
- Technically astute with broad experience and knowledge of
cloud-based solutions - from IaaS (infrastructure as a service) to
private and public cloud to data portability to backup, storage,
and disaster recovery.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional project management and cross-functional
communications and collaboration skills
- Proactive and self-directed: must be able to define and scope
new initiatives with minimal guidance based on field input and
relevant field data
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong
interpersonal communication skills among clients of all levels of
organizations
- Knowledge of business: Go-to-market strategy, engineering,
operations, industry trends, development pipelines
- Background in IT infrastructure - storage, networking, compute
is a big plusEducation and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field such as
economics, communications, marketing or statistics.
- Certified Product Manager (CPM) from AIPMM a plus but not
required
