Role Objectives & Responsibilities

The Asset Management Associate is responsible for maximizing the value of assets under management. The Asset Management Associate is entrusted with optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of diverse single-family assets through ensuring compliance, conducting financial analysis, providing support for the operations. The Asset Management Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing processes and procedures to be used by the Asset Management team in executing its purpose.

  • Monitor the full life cycle of single-family rental properties - from on-boarding new property acquisitions to renovation, leasing, turn, property management and disposition recommendation
  • Review acquisitions, due diligence scopes, and market comparable properties
  • Review acquisition and closing documents throughout the acquisition process
  • Detailed review of property renovation scope and bid analysis and track progress throughout the renovation cycle
  • Ensure construction budget adherence, minimize turnover costs, maximize lease rates and collections, minimize maintenance expenses
  • Detailed review and analysis of portfolio financial statements
  • Market and lease rental rate analysis of properties on the market
  • Analyze troubled assets and provide recommendations to achieve returns
  • Review and update weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting per each life cycle department
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Preparing investor reporting and communicating portfolio details to management and investors
  • This role will work very closely with Senior Asset Management, Portfolio Management, Acquisitions, Construction, Property Management, and Investors

    Requirement Knowledge & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate or related field with strong record of academic achievement
    • This role will require attention to detail and an ability to quickly get up to speed on a variety of residential markets utilizing standard real estate metrics and demographics
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of real estate analysis/asset management or property management experience.
    • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
    • Strong experience with financial modeling, including detailed property-level and portfolio-level financial statement analysis, lease management, and budgeting/forecasting
    • Must be comfortable learning new computer systems
    • Ability to hold confidential all information that is proprietary to the management of Sylvan Road, subsidiaries, affiliates and investors
    • Highly organized, extremely proactive and detail oriented individual with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively
