Job Description:

System One is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Nuclear Design Modification Engineer for an opportunity supporting nuclear power plant evaluation, design, and modification projects. Onsite and remote work models available. Onsite work model open for Naperville, IL or Atlanta, GA. Occasional travel to job sites is expected.

Nuclear industry experience is required.

Responsibilities:

Completes engineering projects by analyzing problems, organizing and controlling project elements.


Evaluation of systems, testing, and definition of modification of existing power plant architecture, via walkdowns.


Provides expert advice on design processes or construction methods.


Formulates and directs investigations or prototype, model and system studies, analyzing and interpreting the data obtained and recommending practical application of results.


Demonstrates ability to perform review of complex calculations, design deliverables.


Analyzes problems, investigates and establishes general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes., etc.


Collaborates with team members on projects to determine priorities and implications on work of others.


Provides effective solutions and defines appropriate deliverables that the client will need to solve the issue.



Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school.


5+ years relevant work experience


Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.


Knowledge and implementation of client Engineering Change Control process of nuclear power generation utilities is considered an asset.


Working knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards.


Experience with the Standard Design Change procedure IP-ENG-001.
