The School of Psychology is dedicated to advancing psychological
science through cutting-edge research, innovative education, and
impactful community engagement. Our faculty and student researchers

Atlanta.The Janus Laboratory directed by Dr. Hsiao-Wen Liao at
Georgia Tech is seeking a full-time staff - Research Technician I.
Our research examines memory processes that foster or hinder
self-regulation, goal pursuit, and well being in adulthood and old
age. We also investigate activities that promote interactions
between younger and older generations. This position will provide
exposure to research related to memory and aging, engaged
lifestyles, mental health and well being. This position is ideal
for someone considering graduate school or health profession.
Job Summary
Provide basic technical support services required for conducting
tests and experiments in a school or research laboratory within the
Institute. This position will interact on a consistent basis with:
academic and research faculty, co-workers. This position typically
will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned
scientific tests, experiments, etc
Job Duty 2 -
Collect and prepare samples for use in assigned tests
Job Duty 3 -
Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.
Job Duty 4 -
Operate various equipment used in research studies.
Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of
education and experience
Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience

SKILLS
This job requires basic knowledge of research lab equipment and

Other Information
Research Technician I will assist with data collection on campus
and off campus involving use of virtual reality technologies and
assist with other research activities (e.g., participant
recruitment and scheduling, data preparation, literature search).
This person will also assist with some administrative tasks (e.g.,
communicating with IT/technicians/service providers for
software/apps updates, coordinating lab activities, corresponding
to IRB).
