The Senior Security Engineer supports the Office of the Optum CISO
as part of the Enterprise Information Security (EIS) program and
supports both line of business and enterprise security initiatives.
- The role requires a technical expert with a focus on cloud
security, vulnerability management and identity and access
management to act as a central point of contact for security
process issues and questions. -
The role is deemed a critical integration point with the business
and is considered a change agent for the business in understanding
security risks and the role and responsibilities of EIS, as well as
ensuring that EIS fully understands and is engaged to support the
needs, objectives, and priorities of the business.
Primary -Responsibilities: -
- Work with businesses across the UK & Ireland to ensure
alignment with EIS policies and standards and establish risk
prioritized cyber security processes and controls.
- Serve as a local point of contact for EIS policy and process
issues and escalations, particularly cloud and network
- Contribute as a team member in major programs or change
initiatives aimed at increasing the enterprise security
capabilities e.g., acquired entity integration, vulnerability
- Communicate to senior management on risk management concepts,
as well as specific project risks and risk mitigation
- Maintain a deep understanding of the business, our patients and
healthcare-delivery models. This understanding includes key
systems, key contacts, priorities and concerns within the business
- Maintains current knowledge on information security topics and
their applicability to the enterprise and the healthcare

- Bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline or equivalent
- Experience working in large and highly regulated
- Demonstrable experience with securing public cloud platforms
(AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with practical interpretation and application of
policy and standards.
