Job Description:
Job SummaryThis role will be part of the sustaining engineering
team and own the execution of sustaining strategy to support the
profitability and market relevance of the product portfolio. Work
cross-functionally to ensure key elements of the strategy are
executed on time and budget. Must operate with an owner mindset in
collaboration with business partners in manufacturing, new product
engineering, and marketing. Must be highly creative and able to
make decisions based on data analysis to drive the brand(s)
forward. Must be highly effective at relationship building and
maintenance. Must lead and influence the work of other team
members, internal partners and external business associates with
the mindset of driving profitability and having fun.Key Tasks &
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Leads and executes aspects of the lifecycle management process
from the engineering perspective including, but not limited to, the
development of part geometry, assembly design and drawing
generation. Design work varies from value add value engineering
efforts to product enhancements and cost reduction activities.
Develops and distributes engineering data in the form of
Engineering Change Notices, bills of material and parts tracking
(35%)
- Partners with the internal manufacturing facilities to resolve
part or assembly issues, deviation requests and bill of material
errors to keep the manufacturing lines running and ensure quality
product is produced. Conducts pilot/pre-production runs related to
product or process changes. (15%)
- Actively participates in, or lead on occasion, team meetings
using the project management fundamentals and action
plans(10%)
- Evaluates custom product and modification requests for
feasibility and total cost(15%)
- Continuously looks for, and actively implements process
improvements related to productivity, quality, purchasing and
manufacturing; to include sourcing new or alternate processes,
equipment, and/or training of manpower. Looks for advancements or
changes in technology via tradeshows, technology councils, vendors
or other methods (10%)
- Support ABS/LEAN Transformation by actively participating in
Kaizen teams and completing post Kaizen activities. May lead
aspects of the Kaizen as necessary (10%)
- Submits test requests and works directly with the testing group
as necessary on any required follow-up. Submits prototyping
requests and works directly with the model shop to produce
prototypes and assembly of samples. Reviews functional
specifications, project charters and competitors' samples

- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work
experience
- Minimum 5 years of applicable experience required; lighting
experience preferred
- Demonstrated successful development, sustainment, and
commercialization of multiple products
- Navigated strategic changes to product roadmaps and product
families
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal
authority
- Ability to travel approximately 10%-25% of the time
- Physical ability to lift to 45 lbsPhysical Requirements
